SABRINA FREY - RECORDER

For over 30 years, I have travelled the world's stages large and small, got to know fantastic music, was able to be part of extraordinary productions and made countless friends. Now the time has come for me not only to make a little space for the younger generations, but also to seek new professional challenges and get involved in other areas that have interested me for a long time.

Music as the language of my heart will never leave me, and so I will continue to perform in concerts and continue projects - but on a reduced scale in future. This decision was not easy for me and took several years.

At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those from the bottom of my heart who have supported and appreciated me on my journey so far. I look forward to hopefully meeting more people in the world of music and am excited to see what the future will bring.

ITALIAN SONATAS 1730

Sabrina Frey and Philippe Grisvard lead a colorful journey through the versatile Flauto dolce repertoire of Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries. The "Neopolitan school", the "Venetian school" and Arcangelo Corelli's influences are represented as well as the "galant style".

Premiere recordings can be heard alongside well-known works whose manuscripts are scattered in libraries around the world. And yet all the sonatas were composed in Italy within just 30 years. The interpretation of the baroque sonatas with only two instruments creates a flexibility that is enchanting.

Press reviews

Neue Zürcher Zeitung

"Sabrina Frey's concert with her ensemble fulfilled high, even the highest expectations. And it can be said without exaggeration: this was baroque chamber music at its finest, guided by an irrepressible joy of music-making and intensity of dialogue, the likes of which one encounters only exceptionally."
